§ 6 Newsletter

(1) With your consent, you can subscribe to our newsletter, through which we will keep you informed about our current special offers. The goods and services advertised are listed in the consent form.

(2) We use the so-called double opt-in procedure for subscribing to our newsletter. In addition, we store your IP address and the times of your registration and confirmation. (5) Please note that we analyze your user behavior when sending the newsletter. For this analysis, the emails we send contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which are single-pixel image files stored on our website. For these analyses, we link the data specified in § 3 and the web beacons to your email address and a unique ID. We use the data obtained in this way to create a user profile so that we can tailor the newsletter to your individual interests. In doing so, we track when you read our newsletters, which links you click on within them, and use this information to infer your personal interests. We link this data to the actions you take on our website.

§ 8 Facebook, Instagram

(1) Links to these services are provided on our website. We do not share your personal data with these services. We do not use social plugins on our site; this means that unless you explicitly follow the relevant links, no data will be transmitted to the services mentioned.

(2) When you follow these links, your browser establishes a connection to the corresponding social network or service. In the process, data—such as your IP address—is transmitted, allowing them to associate your visit to our site with your user account, if you have one. You can prevent this association by logging out of your respective user account.

§ 9 Embedding YouTube Videos

(1) We have embedded YouTube videos in our online content; these videos are hosted on http://www.YouTube.com and can be played directly from our website.

In addition, the data specified in § 3 of this policy is transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether you are logged in to a YouTube user account or do not have a user account. § 11 Use of Google AdWords Conversion

(1) We use Google AdWords to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites through advertisements (known as Google AdWords). Based on the data from the advertising campaigns, we can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are. Our goal is to show you ads that are relevant to you, make our website more interesting for you, and ensure a fair calculation of advertising costs.

(2) These advertisements are delivered by Google via so-called “ad servers.” To do this, we use ad server cookies, which allow us to measure certain performance metrics, such as the number of times ads are displayed or the number of clicks by users. If you arrive at our website via a Google ad, Google AdWords will store a cookie on your computer. These cookies generally expire after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. The following analytics data is typically stored in connection with this cookie: the unique cookie ID, the number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), the last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), and opt-out information (an indicator that the user no longer wishes to be targeted).

§ 12 Remarketing

In addition to AdWords Conversion, we use the Google Remarketing service. This is a method we use to reach out to you again. Through this service, our ads may be displayed to you as you continue browsing the internet after visiting our website. This is done using cookies stored in your browser, which Google uses to track and analyze your browsing behavior as you visit various websites. This allows Google to identify your previous visit to our website. According to Google’s own statements, the data collected as part of remarketing is not combined with your personal data, which may be stored by Google. In particular, Google states that pseudonymization is used for remarketing.

§ 13 Facebook Custom Audiences

(1) The website also uses the “Custom Audiences” remarketing feature provided by Facebook Inc. (“Facebook”). This allows users of the website to be shown interest-based advertisements (“Facebook Ads”) when they visit the social network Facebook or other websites that also use this feature. Our goal is to show you advertisements that are relevant to your interests in order to make our website more appealing to you.

§ 14 A/B Testing, Click Tracking

(1) This website also analyzes user behavior through what is known as A/B testing. This allows us to display our websites to you with slightly varied content, depending on your assigned profile. This enables us to analyze our offerings, improve them regularly, and make them more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for A/B testing is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

§ 16 Online Reservations

(1) To enable you to conveniently book your stay with us online, we use the booking engine provided by Hotelnetsolutions (HotelNetSolutions GmbH, Genthiner Str. 8, 10785 Berlin). Your data is collected, processed, and used exclusively for the purpose of establishing, carrying out, and fulfilling the contractual relationship arising from the reservation.

(2) If you wish to book an overnight stay with us online, you must provide your personal data—which we need to process your order—in order to conclude the contract. Required information necessary for the processing of the contracts is marked separately; additional information is voluntary. We process the data you provide to process your order. To this end, we may share your payment information with our bank. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.

(3) Due to commercial and tax law requirements, we are obligated to store your address, payment, and order information for a period of ten years. However, after two years, we restrict the processing of your data, meaning it will be used solely to comply with legal obligations.

§ 17 SOFORT Gift Card System

We use the “SOFORT-Gutschein” widget on our websites. The provider is FIRMEDIA® GmbH & Co.KG, Zum Ritzhagen 5, 34508 Willingen. Only your IP address is transmitted via the widget; this is neither analyzed nor recorded by SOFORT-Gutschein. Personal data is collected and processed only when you order a gift certificate or ticket directly from the SOFORT-Gutschein shop. Personal data provided in connection with the SOFORT-Gutschein Advent Calendar sweepstakes is used and stored exclusively for the purposes of those sweepstakes. Personal data is automatically and completely deleted no later than 30 days after the sweepstakes end. We have entered into a data processing agreement with FIRMEDIA® GmbH & Co.KG.

GÖBEL HOTELS employs technical and organizational security measures to protect the data you provide from accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or access by unauthorized persons. These security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments. Furthermore, all employees and agents are bound by the data confidentiality provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act.
